Grandparents.com

Anybody see "The Early Show" on Thursday?? The Senior Editor of Grandparents.com, Georgia Witkin, Ph.D., was on Thursday's broadcast. So I thought that I would check out the site. It is great. What a wonderful idea. There are all kinds of featured topics including activities, toys, expert advise, groups, food, etc. etc. This site seems to be an excellent source for grandparents. It shares a lot of tips of taking care of kids. Topics such as the well known "back to sleep" movement were drastically different when grandparents raised their own children. So check it out, pass it own to all the grandparents out there. Happy Friday!!! Until next time...

Oh, BTW~ apparently (thanks to the countdown on the site) there are 57 days 9 hours 28 mins and 6 seconds until grandparents day. Checkout the site to get great ideas for celebrating!!

Homemade Baby Wipes

Here is the latest and greatest from Forty Toes!! I was over at FT's house the other day with Collin, my youngest. I had forgotten my diaper bag and needed to change him. I put him on FT's changing table and low and behold she had homemade baby wipes. Yes, the mother of triplets and a preschooler had made baby wipes. (with a really cute label too) They worked great!! I was sold... imagine how much money you could save by making your own wipes. So in all my free time (ha, ha) I am going to attempt this wonderful idea. I thought that I would share the recipe.

Homemade Baby Wipes

#9 Rubbermaid Container

1/2 roll of Bounty Paper Towels

2 cups water

1-2 tablespoons baby oil

2 tablespoons of baby wash

Mix all liquid ingredients in the container. Remove cardboard from 1/2 roll of paper towels. Put the paper towels in the container and put the lid on tight. Flip the container over and wait until the paper towels are thoroughly saturated.

And there you have it folks, homemade baby wipes. What a great idea. If you have any ideas on this topic let us know. Until next time...

Digital Scrapbooking...

MOMENTS STAND STILL,DAYS CRAWL BY,TIME FLIES...

Good morning!! I hope that everyone is having a great day so far. It has been busy around here. my oldest son had swimming lessons this morning and getting him dressed and ready is a job in itself. but well worth it!! :) anywho.. in the 5 brief minutes that i have to breath i thought that i would share an awesome idea with everyone.

so after the birth of my first son i took a gazillion pictures and made all kinds of calendars, notebooks, flip books, etc. all with andrew's picture plastered all over them. i remember changing his outfits several times a day just to get different shots. i sent out snapfish pics at least once every couple weeks just like a giddy, proud new mama does. so i have been thinking... my POOR second son.

i have barely gotten his picture taken. :( it is not because i am not giddy and proud of him too. he is my little sunshine, but the time factor plays the biggest role in this predicament. so i am going to make a conscious effort to take lots of pics of mr. colly, sweet thing. and in order to preserve these photos i am going to use http://www.howfasttheygrow.com/.

How Fast They Grow is an awesome online site for digital scrapbooking. they offer adorable templates for pages. you can even share them on facebook. cool huh? that way i don't have to spend tons of money of scrapbooking supplies. it doesn't take long. just an upload of a photo or two.

so until my next five minutes... hang in there!! and don't forget to take pics of all your kiddos, they grow up WAY too fast!!!

Introducing Posts from 40 toes...

So I have been searching for "things to blog about." I haven't been very good about it. I apologize. With the use of Twitter and Facebook, I am starting to get the hang of all of this social media. It is amazing... to chat with folks all around the world is so exciting. So I have recently come up with a fun idea. One of my dearest friends had triplets in December. In that special month the family also celebrated their first daughter's third birthday. WOW!! Their family has been such an inspiration to me. On the days that my two boys are stressing me out I remember my friend's calm, peaceful nature and I take a deep breath. Aaagghhh, you can do this.

This particular "shero" of mine

(she*ro: n. any woman admired for qualities or achievements and regarded as an ideal or model)

has some amazing ideas that inspire me daily. Awesome ideas. She has the ideas and I have the time... ha, ha. So I am going to start posting cool stuff for all of you moms, aunts, baby-sitters, grandmas, etc. out there. Straight from the mouth of my shero~ whom I personally think deserves mom of the year.

So stay tuned... posts from 40 toes will start popping up. Cute name huh? 40 toes~ wow. If you have any tips for new moms, ideas for rainy day activities, recipes, etc. be sure to send them our way. We will hopefully be adding some more inspirational folks in the future. :) Enjoy!!
